I. How to get to Kaminokoike Pond
If your GPS unit has Map Code
1. Set Map Code (GPS) “910 216 161”, and you will get to Kaminokoike Pond.
2. If your GPS unit has no Map Code system, follow the direction below.
(Don't search it by the telephone number. It may lead to Kiyosato Kanko Kyokai (Kiyosato Tourist Association), which is 30 Km away from Kaminoko Pond.)
Take Hokkaido Prefectural Route (Dodo) 1115 southward (for Nakashibetsu).
If you are going from Kiyosato-town, drive about 24 Km.
There is a sign saying "Kaminokoike Pond 300 meters ahead and a right turn".
There is a small sign just before the entrance. Make a right turn here.
At the entrance, there is a sign saying "Kaminokoike Pond Forests."
The road is very narrow and unpaved. Drive at a very slow speed with special attention.
The parking lot leads to the walkway.
Walk 100 meters on the walkway, you will find the most attractive spot of Kaminokoike Pond.
You can enjoy the very beautiful emerald-blue color of the pond aound the noon time on a fine sunny day. Some say just before the sunset is the best time.
Others say you can enjoy the most beautiful blue color of the pond if you squat down.
There are some stairs toward the end of the sideway.
Japanese-style portable toilets are in the parking lot.
II. How to get to Sakuranotaki Falls
If your GPS unit has Map Code
1. Set Map Code (GPS) “444 228 430”, and you will get to Sakuranotaki Falls.
2. If your GPS unit has no Map Code system, follow the direction below.
(Don't search it by the telephone number. It may lead to Kiyosato Kanko Kyokai (Kiyosato Tourist Association), which is 16 Km away from Sakuranotaki Falls.)
Take Hokkaido Prefectural Route (Dodo) 1115 southward (for Nakashibetsu).
If you are going from Kiyosato-town, drive about 12Km.
There is a small sign just before you make a left turn to Sakuranotaki Falls.
Drive along the road for a while and you will find another sign. Drive straight.
After crossing two bridges, make a left turn to a narrower road.
The sign says "Sakuranotaki Falls is 1Km ahead."
The last 300m is under construction and unpaved.
The sign says "Make a right turn for Sakukranotaki Falls."
You are now in the free parking lot.
Walk about 50 meters and go down the stairs. There is a path the the falls from the back of the parking lot.

You are at Sakuranotaki Falls. Many cherry salmons try to jump up the falls from the end of July to the beginning of August. It is said that the evening on a fine hot day is best because more salmons jump when the water is very warm. Don't forget to take a bug spray because there are quite a lot of mosquitoes around the Falls.
Portable toilets are available. The closest flush toilets are at Midori Station.
